You had lots of coffee in the past. Quite recently, one somehow put some money on the table, plus supposedly ridiculous amounts of advice. But, you’re still wondering about the results, actually you haven’t seen any so far. Well, the time has come and here you go, enter Benaki Museum on Wednesday, April 28 to get all the details and more. I’m personally excited to announce this very special event that will draw together the graduating start-ups of the Openfund and the great community which, at its essence, almost enabled this journey itself.
In short, episode 32 of Open Coffee Athens will solely host speeches of all companies incubated in the first round of operations of the Openfund, we call this ‘Demo Day’. So, 4 great start-ups will present for the first time the fruits of their work and launch their products to the world; we feel excited about it, and you’d better get prepared to get excited, too. Now, you may add to the usual suspects of an Open Coffee event some great entrepreneurs, a number of investors plus more than few advisors; to our expectations, all these add up to a much anticipated event you definitely cannot afford to miss, and we’re working on exceeding these expectations. Here are all the details:
Speakers
– Davina Economou, Alex Schleifer & Constantinos Demetriadis, co-founders, will present Listiki to the world. Listiki is at its heart a deceptively simple concept, enabling collaborative, live, ordered lists that can be generated by anyone. By harnessing the power of the real-time web, Listiki adds a layer of context and hierarchy to this massive, constant flow of data, but we prefer to keep more details secret before the live demo :)
– Aleksey Orap and Dimitri Popov, co-founders, will join us from Kiev and Moscow to present YouScan, a social media monitoring platform targeting the russian and ukrainian markets, which helps major brand owners to listen to consumer opinions posted online about their products & competitors, and proactively manage their brand’s online reputation. YouScan already counts some hundreds of beta enterprise customers, Oleksii and Dimitri will share more.
– Alexis Ballas, Marylou Tzempelikou & Petros Ziogas, co-founders, will introduce you Fashinating, a suite of fashion games and -at the same time- a crowdsourced fashion discovery engine that aims to alter your perception of an online fashion experience. Try to visualize a satisfactory online window shopping experience, a meaningful yet enjoyable way to search for or have fun with fashion items, or you’d better join us to see all these materialized.
– Miro Solanka and Peter Crkon, co-founders, will join us from Prague & Glasgow to launch Sportmeets, a meeting facilitation service specifically targeted at recreational sports. Shifting the effort from organizing to participating, Sportmeets removes the barriers to arranging sport events, while also helping you find suitable people to play with and engage with socially wherever you live. Also, get ready to sport!
When
The event will take place on Wednesday April 28, and that’s a timely reminder for you to leave everything apart and save the date to be there. Here’s the exact schedule:
– 17.30: Doors open, coffee is served, first contacts happen in the usual informal way
– 19.00: Presentations start
– 21.00: Post-speeches, alcohol-boosted networking starts now, and keeps up till late
Where
As usual, the event is hosted in the tasteful Benaki Museum at 138 Piraeus str, arguably the best place for such an event in the city. The 350-seat auditorium will host the presentations, while the elegant bar is the place to be for endless networking. The Museum is a 5’ walk from Kerameikos metro station (map), also easily accessible from other public transportation means.
How
Access to the event is free and open to anyone interested in participating. That simple. However, it is convenient to RSVP in advance, please do so in the facebook event here, or just leave a comment below.
Why
If you are a regular attendant, you’ll probably have your own reasons and we guess they are some really good ones, feel free to share them in the comments. If you haven’t attended for a long time, or you’re repeatedly thinking about your first presence, that’s *the* event to be. Entrepreneurs and investors, passion and experience, ideas and capital, technology and business, all blend together in a mix you can’t miss, getting real yet flexible enough for you to mold it. Come and join us to see first hand ideas getting mature and partnerships taking shape, start-ups happening and your very own opportunity waiting for you in the next coffee table. Get ready for endless networking, spread the word and be there or be square! :)

I wasn’t able to attend the previous one. I’m looking forward to be there this time. I love your choice of the place. Benaki’s museum is the best place to be.
I missed the previous one, but I won’t miss this one.
